Food drives & funds
We organize gluten-free food drives and collect financial contributions to help provide safe pantry staples to individuals and families who need them.
Youth-Led · Expert-Supported · Community-Driven
The Celiac Shelf is a youth-led nonprofit working to expand access to safe gluten-free food for individuals and families who rely on a gluten-free diet for medical reasons.
Through food drives, community partnerships, education, and advocacy, we're working to make sure medically necessary dietary needs aren't left off the shelf.
Why we exist
For individuals who medically require a gluten-free diet, having access to food isn't always the same as having access to food they can safely eat.
Gluten-free foods can be more expensive, harder to find, and limited in traditional food assistance settings. For individuals and families already facing food insecurity, those challenges can make maintaining a medically necessary diet even more difficult.
The Celiac Shelf was created to help close that gap.
We collect gluten-free food, raise funds, build community partnerships, and increase awareness so that medically necessary dietary needs are part of the conversation about food access.
What we do

Collect
We organize gluten-free food drives and collect financial contributions to help provide safe pantry staples to individuals and families who need them.
Connect
We build partnerships with schools, food pantries, community organizations, businesses, volunteers, and supporters to help get gluten-free food where it can make a difference.
Educate
We raise awareness about gluten-free food insecurity and the importance of considering medically necessary dietary needs as part of food access.
Our impact
Every donation represents something bigger: access, inclusion, dignity, and peace of mind.
Founded by siblings Dylan and Emily Erber, The Celiac Shelf began with a personal understanding of the need for safe gluten-free food and a desire to make that access possible for others.
Today, Dylan and Emily lead a growing community effort supported by an advisory board, community partners, volunteers, donors, and advocates working to make gluten-free food access more inclusive.
